Stephanie Rose - Counselling Trainee
Specialises in helping clients to identify unmet emotional needs and connect past experiences with present day patterns of behaviour to overcome internal and interpersonal challenges.
MSc, Psychology from City U, Hong Kong
MSc, Counselling, University of Hong Kong (graduating November 2025)
Stephanie is a counsellor who supports clients with recurring life challenges by guiding them to safely explore past experiences and by helping them to connect dots with problems that regularly occur in their daily lives. With this understanding, she then collaborates with clients to reframe unhelpful thinking patterns, heal emotional wounds and identify positive coping strategies so that they can thrive in their daily lives.
With an MSocSc in Counselling (graduating November 2025) from the University of Hong Kong and using her Masters in Psychology from City University Hong Kong, Stephanie combines evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Growth Mindset and Mindfulness practice depending on the clients individual needs.
Stephanie’s clinical experience includes individual and group counseling at Central Minds and HELP, a not-for-profit supporting domestic workers. Stephanie also works as a Wellbeing Lead at Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy where she oversees the development of mental health programming, resource provision and initiatives to improve employee work-life-balance. Previously, Stephanie consulted for City Mental Health Alliance where she developed mental health training materials, and collaborated closely with clinical practitioners, employees and employers to design human-centric solutions to employee mental health challenges. This unique experience also equips her with a strong understanding of work related issues that may impact clients; whether that be stress, burnout or imposter syndrome. Last but not least, Steph is a mum so understands the role-strain many parents experience juggling competing demands in a fast-paced city like Hong Kong.
Originally from Denmark and the UK, Stephanie moved to Hong Kong as a child and calls the city her home. As a result of her diverse upbringing, Stephanie brings cultural sensitivity into her practice seeking to understand all experiences with curiosity and respect.
